Antep Pistachio Baklava

Antep Pistachio Baklava, also known as Antep Baklava or Gaziantep Baklava, is a famous Turkish dessert originating from the city of Gaziantep (often referred to as Antep), located in southeastern Turkey. It’s a variant of traditional baklava, a pastry made of layers of thin phyllo dough filled with nuts and sweetened with syrup or honey.

What sets Antep Pistachio Baklava apart is the generous use of premium Antep pistachios, which are renowned for their intense flavor and vibrant green color. The pistachios are finely ground and layered between the sheets of phyllo dough, creating a rich and nutty filling. The baklava is then baked until golden brown and crispy.

Once out of the oven, a sweet syrup made from sugar, water, and sometimes a touch of lemon juice or rose water is poured over the hot baklava, allowing it to soak up the syrup and become irresistibly moist and sweet.
